We had an amazing experience on the El Yunque Half-Day Tour offered through the Conquistador Resort!

Our guide, Elija, picked us up right from the hotel lobby, which was super convenient. On the way to the rainforest, he shared interesting facts and fun stories about the history and culture of Puerto Rico—it made the drive go by quickly and kept us engaged from the start.

We passed by the Coca Falls, which looked absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, due to construction and limited parking, we couldn’t stop this time—but it’s definitely something I’ll come back for!

Our first stop was at the Yokahú Tower, where we got to enjoy impressive panoramic views of the east coast, including Luquillo and Fajardo. Next, we visited Baño Grande, a scenic man-made natural pool surrounded by lush vegetation. We also did a short, easy trail where Elija explained the local plants and animals found in El Yunque.

The highlight for me was the stop at the river. It was peaceful and refreshing, and we even learned how the indigenous people used ink from certain rocks as body paint for camouflage—different rocks made different colors!

This tour was the perfect mix of nature, culture, and relaxation. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Response from SALTours

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review of your El Yunque Half-Day Tour experience. We’re absolutely delighted to hear that you had an amazing time exploring Puerto Rico’s natural beauty and rich culture with us.

Elija will be thrilled to know his storytelling and insights helped make your journey engaging and enjoyable from the very beginning. It’s always our goal to create a well-rounded experience that combines education, exploration, and relaxation, and your feedback reaffirms we’re on the right path.

While we regret that the stop at Coca Falls wasn’t possible due to ongoing construction, we’re glad you still enjoyed the scenic drive and found value in every other stop along the way—from the breathtaking views at Yokahú Tower to the tranquil moment at the river. The indigenous body paint demonstration is indeed a unique and memorable highlight!

Thank you again for your kind recommendation. We hope to welcome you back soon—perhaps for a longer visit to El Yunque or a new adventure entirely!
